Carla Santiago Obituary

Carla "Elisi" Jean Santiago, 75, of Durango, Colorado, died 5/21/2025, Pagosa Springs, Colorado, Born 2/12/1950. A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on June 6, 2025 at Greenmount Cemetery, Durango, Colorado. A Durango Colorado Cherokee native, still looking at the world through rose tinted glasses. She'll always be a Cherokee Cowgirl with a gypsy soul. As her cherished Bob Dylan once sang; "Some people seem to fade away but then when they are truly gone, it's like they didn't fade away at all." This will always be true for Carla Jean.

She tells me we mustn't be sad, Because finally she's pain free. She's found her place in heaven. Underneath an old oak tree.

My sincere condolences to the entire family. I made several attempts to reach out to her while she was in Pagosa. I recall so much of Carla and you kids when you were kids. Her favorite comment was "Forever Young" and she will alway be. Sending you much peace, light and strenght.
Love,
Yolanda
