We are so sorry for your loss. I still have the barnwood running cowboy frame with pegs that Calvin made. It is on my kitchen wall.

I have very fond memories of Calvin. When my daughter, Whitney Piccoli, met Matt Piccoli, grandson of Calvin and Cecelia E. Smith, the first day that she was at Bayfield High School in 1999 - history started writing itself with the Smith family. Right from the beginning, we were made to feel like family by not only Calvin but Cecelia as well. It was always "show and tell" when we visited. He always had great stories to tell about this or that and would always show us something new! There was never a time that I felt unwelcome or unwanted whenever I showed up. There was always an open invitation to come by and a welcome hand offered if needed.
When all of the wedding plans started to fall apart for Matt and Whitney, the whole wedding was switched over to their ranch last minute to accommodate us! Calvin let us know that he was very proud to have the wedding there.
Even when my husband's, Lars Helton, family came to visit from Sweden (Bengt Andersson and Christina Bondesson) and wanted to meet a "real cowboy:, he was very excited to meet them and show them around "the ranch". He even gave them one of his famous handmade turtles to take home with them. I am pretty sure this is the furthest that any of his turtles has traveled!
With a heavy heart and many wonderful memories, I find comfort in knowing that he is now pain free and has joyously joined our Lord for a blissful eternity. I feel so blessed to have had him as part of my life and family! You will be missed, Calvin! Until we see you again!

Such a great loss for Cal's many friends and family, a beautiful soul who made each one of us feel like a cherished member of his family!
