Bradley Lantz Obituary

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Bradley John Lantz on January 21, 2026, at the age of 60 while in Hospice of Mercy hospital in Durango, Colorado. With family at his side, Brad's unwavering and courageous year-long battle with stage 4 cancer came to an end.

Brad graciously touched the lives of everyone who had the honor of knowing him. Family, friends, and his faith in God were of the utmost importance and priority.

His unique wit and amusing humor were a steady source of laughter, smiles, and comfort to all. His zest for life was like no other and will forever be an inspiration, a testament to the power of an indomitable spirit enthused with curiosity and resilience.

Brad leaves behind a legacy of inspiring others throughout the decades working as a DJ, bouncer, bartender, construction worker, salesman, hotel owner & manager, snowplow operator, landscaper, avid Bronco's fan, and 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

Brad was a proud, loving, kind, loyal, and devoted husband, son, brother, and uncle. His selflessness, infectious smile, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

He is preceded in death by his father, Lt. Col. John H. Lantz (USA), and is survived by his soulmate and wife of 33 years, Amy (Giersch) Lantz. He is also survived by his mother, Judy M. Lantz of Durango, one brother, Lt. Col. Mark H. Lantz (USAF), sister-in-law, Andrea K. Lantz of Mountain Green, Utah, several nieces and nephews, and a few grandnieces and grandnephews.

A funeral mass will be held at St Columba Church, 1800 E 2nd Ave, Durango, Colorado at 10:00 am on June 27, 2026. A Celebration of Life will be planned for that evening. Details will be shared later during springtime.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Common Spirit Mercy Health Foundation at: https://give.commonspirit.org/mercyhealthfoundation/donate. This, we believe, would be the best tribute to his extraordinary life.
