I worked with Bo many years ago @ Ameritech and was shocked to learn of his passing.
I relate to the notes here and his legacy. He was bigger than life and left me with wonderful learnings and memories.
I recall at one point he was going to raise Llama's. Not sure if I am right but Colorado was part of the plan..... who knows maybe another great story....
I didn't learn of this until reading a U of I publication.

Bo, you left us way too soon. I remember the many good times and laughs we shared growing up together. You were the brother with the adventurous spirit and lived your life to the fullest. I will miss you Bo.

No mystery to the fact that a common thread in eulogies for Bo is his generosity - in the kitchen, in the wine cellar, in discussion, in life. AS an Aussie I was lucky to get to know him, through all too infrequent contacts, after my son Charlie discovered and married his marvellous daughter Kathryn, and that one word description for him is perfect and telling. It is surely one of the very best things that can be said of a man. Many beautiful meals, a lot of great discussions, not enough fishing, plenty of laughing marked our contact. Like so many Americans who arrived from more troubled regions of the world to make a new life, Bo clearly retained an abiding and deep appreciation of the opportunities he was offered by hat adventurous move. His achievements, professional and through his family, are obvious to all who know him. As Kathryn (Kitty or Kat in the family) has observed, he is not really gone. I agree with her entirely and hope she and Helen hold onto that reality through their grieving. There are bits of Bo running around in France, the U.S., and soon, once again, in Australia. I'll miss him - but have plenty of photographs to stimulate memories over the years - mostly at or near a table laden with very good food, very good wine, and very good fun.

We miss you, your BIG presence, your humor, your story telling, your passion for cooking, relentless to achieve perfection. Boy, your smoked meats still make my mouth water. But it is your gentle kindness and generosity to anyone who came into contact with you that will be missed the most.

Bo, my sweetheart eternal, you left me too soon. There are so many things to share and say but I’m glad ‘I love you’ was the way we ended each day.

A Poem for my Daddy
You always supported us, whether near or far.
We loved your humor, smiles ...you were amazing: 5 stars.
Words to describe you: generous, gregarious, fun loving, intelligent and strong.
Your advice was worth a million and never went wrong.
Daddy, you had a contagious energy and were the life of the party.
You could fix and build anything; a total smarty.
Confident and opinionated, shy ...you were not.
Good humor and crass jokes, you told a lot!
And cooking you mastered with grace and local fame.
Your table was always open for all and they came!
Thankful for the invite to eat and be merry.
Ending with a cigar, whiskey or sherry.
As you got older you loved that you could do or say what you wanted.
You can’t judge me, I’m old.. you taunted.
So much advice that we will never forget: relax, no worries, it will all work out in the end.
You four-legged pal Lily was your shadow and best friend.
You have made us who we are today - 2 generations who love you dearly.
You said not to be sad when you were gone, which seemed easier in theory
We are so proud of you and all that you have done in your life.
You built a legacy that is strong and you were so very kind to your wife.
Daddy, you will live in our memories and stories that we will tell.
Never to forget you for generations; this will not be farewell.
We will never forget your kindness and witty remarks.
Thank you for being the rock in our family; forever you will live on in our hearts.
