Beverly Todd Obituary

Beverly Todd, beloved wife, sister, aunt, dog mom, and friend passed away on March 7, 2023. Beverly was born June 22, 1961 in Phoenix, Arizona to Raymond and Frances Meyer and older sister Kathy. Her life changed forever when, as the Maid of Honor in Kathy's wedding to Gene Jones, she was introduced to Best Man Charlie Todd. They married the next spring, on March 21, 1981, and were together for 42 wonderful years. Through the years, they resided in Durango, CO and for the last 30 years, Aztec and Farmington, New Mexico have been their home.

Bev had so many interests it was hard to keep track. Her #1 interest was reading books on all her interests. She had what was possibly the largest private book collection (1,500+ books) in the Four Corners area. Later in life, she focused on gardening and seed saving and pottery. Bev and Charlie built a creative oasis in Farmington, New Mexico that was a haven for friends and family, birds, bees, and rescue dogs.

She was preceded in death by her mom Frances Meyer, her dad Raymond Meyer, special aunt Pat Zurliene, and her beloved dogs: Lady, Barney, Keelah, Peaches, Buddy, and Lucy. She is survived by her husband Charlie Todd, dog children Yogi and Gracie, sister Kathy Jones (Gene), brother-in-law Sam H. Todd (Wanda), uncle Clayton Abel, and nieces and nephews, Jill Jones (Chris), Emily Remmert (Noah), Alex Jones (Natalie), Sam R. Todd (Jen), Darbi Jaramillo (Mike), and Kara Zurliene (Isaiah).

Services will be held Tuesday March 14th, 2:00 pm at Hood Mortuary in Durango, (a link for live streaming will be available at www.hoodmortuary.com at time of service) followed by burial at Greenmount Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held in Farmington at a later time.

It was Bev's wish that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Annie's Orphans or San Juan Seed Savers.

Bev had the softest, sweetest, most beautiful voice! When Bev spoke, she shared her thoughts, ideas, dreams and hopes with that melodic tone that absolutely mesmerized everyone who listened. Bev, or Cousin Bev, as we know her, was one of the most lovely human beings on the face of this earth. She was so brilliant but never boastful. She read every book on every subject and understood the world more deeply than most, but she never imposed her views or opinions on anyone. She was delightful in every way. Rob and I had the pleasure of traveling to Alaska with Bev and Charlie. We cherish the memories. We loved our time together and will always love
Bev and Charlie.

Charlie, you have our deepest sympathy. Kathy and Gene, Jill and Chris, Alex and friend, Emily and Noah, you have our condolences.
All our love,
Rob, Kathy and Lorne

Dear Brother Charlie,

I praying for you and your family.

It was a joy to know Bev. She was a sweet heart. We both enjoyed ceramics. She was very generous and give me some very nice pieces of her creations.

May God give you peace on this day.

Dearest Charlie, Kathy, Gene, Jill, Emily and Alex. I am so deeply sorry for your loss. Although I only met Bev the one time, I feel honoured to have done so, and to now be part of such a special family. I´m sure Bev´s spirit will continue to shine brightly... and all the beautiful memories of her will live on. Thinking of you at this difficult time and sending all my love. Natalie X
