Betty Patno Obituary

Betty Dorothy Martinez Patno, 80, of Summit, New Jersey, formerly of Conroe, TX, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 6, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Santa Fe, New Mexico on June 10, 1944, the daughter of Estefanita (Atencio) and Jose S. Martinez, Betty was raised in New Mexico, Colorado and later lived in Massachusetts and Londonderry, NH before settling in Conroe, Texas and most recently, Summit, NJ. She attended Western Colorado University, formerly Colorado Western, and went on to build a remarkable career as a chemist at Polaroid in Cambridge, MA, where she worked for 26 years. She was the founder of Elegant Concepts by Bettina, a bridal dress business in Londonderry, New Hampshire. Her designs were featured in the Miss Universe and Miss New Hampshire pageants. Betty is survived by her husband of 50 years, Horace Patno; her loving daughters, Becky Singleton and Michelle Stevenson, and Michelle's husband Ken; her cherished grandchildren, Sheleah Monea Martin, Alexis Stevenson, Marcus Stevenson, and Jaelyn Hardy; and her adored great-grandson, Grant Richard Gardner; her dear siblings, Orlando "Joe", Mario, Rick, Sylvia, and Carol Martinez; her step-sons, Steven, Michael, Timothy, and Todd Patno and many loving step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Betty was predeceased by her siblings, Matthew, Augustine, Mary Lou, Maria, and Darlene Martinez as well as her step-son Paul Patno.
