Barbara Lehmann Obituary

Barbara Lehmann, 86, a resident of Durango, Colorado and Tucson, Arizona died peacefully on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. Barbara was born in Marion, Ohio on February 12, 1938, to Bernard and Beryle Berens. After graduating from nursing school in 1959, she worked at The Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. It was there that she met and married her husband James "Jim" Lehmann, M.D. who preceded her in death on February 17, 2022. They were married 61 years and had three children and six grandchildren. After a full life of working, volunteering and raising a family in Albuquerque, New Mexico from 1962 to 1984, Barbara and Jim bought and operated Silver Spruce Lodge in Vallecito, Colorado. They operated the lodge until 1998 and then relocated to Durango where they were active members of The Four Corners Rose Society. In addition, for twenty-one years, Barbara delivered Meals on Wheels in the Durango community. Barbara will be remembered as a generous and loving mother, grandmother and friend. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, parents and beloved dog Nellie. Survivors include her children, Gregory (Christine) Lehmann of Brookfield, Wisconsin; Dede (Robert) Glass of Livermore, California; Jennifer Lehmann of Tucson, Arizona; grandchildren, Lauren (Clark) Chisholm, Jonathan and Daniel Lehmann, Andrew (Karina Reyes) Glass and Emily and Maxwell Derickson.
