Barbara Beard Obituary

Barbara was born July 8, 1934, to Ruby Lee and Roy Timme in Houston, TX and was called home on Oct 6, 2022.

Barbara had 4 children with Columbus Miller. She was a caregiver for family and friends, always ready to lend a helping hand. She was a foster parent and provided care for over 120 children.

She was later married to Norman Beard and shared 7 wonderful years together. She then shared 22 years with Buddy (Merlin MaGourik).

Barbara was a resident of Durango of 40 years and enjoyed many friendships. She moved to Farmington to be near her youngest and spent the last 8 years in Life Care fighting a decade long battle against Lewy Body Dementia.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Columbus, Norman, Buddy and brother Lionel Timme. She is survived by children Carla Miller, Douglas Miller and wife Becky, Wesley Miller and wife Lanelle, and Joan Manchester and husband Ken. She has 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Barbara will be cremated, and a grave site service will follow next year.

My condolences to Barbara's family. Barbara was a kind, caring and fun Lady! I was lucky to have her as my bonus Momma during junior high and high school. She helped shape me to who I am today. I hope I serve her memory well.
