Anselmo Puga Obituary

Angel Puga, 53 of Ignacio, Colorado passed away on April 8, 2022.

Angel was born to the late Lorena Terrazas de Puga and Anselmo Puga Sr in Artesia, New Mexico January 3rd, 1969. After graduating high school, he joined the US Navy and did a World Tour on the USS Enterprise. Angel was proud to be a Veteran, often seen wearing his US Navy hat.

Angel had the kindest heart and made friends everywhere he went. He knew no strangers. He married his best friend Marcia in May 2003. Together they opened their own trucking business,, MAP Hauling, and traveled across numerous states hauling a variety of things. He was a great dad to sons Leroy Aguilar and Keith Martinez. He taught them about cars, mechanics, hunting, and fishing. His greatest joy was his grandchildren, Antonio Aguilar, Angel Aguilar, Isabella Aguilar, Paislee Martinez, and Brynlee Martinez whom he loved dearly. He attended all of their school functions and was their biggest cheerleader. A lot of their fondest memories with Grandpa were riding in his big trucks and packing up to go on adventures.

Angel was a jack of all trades. He could do everything he set his mind to. Even after losing both legs, he continued to work hard. He was so proud of regaining his CDL license in January and was happy to be back driving his big trucks.

Angel is proceeded in death by his parents and beloved sister Rosa Emma Puga. He is survived by his siblings, Victor, Oscar, Joe, Saul, Sammy, Irma, Nancy, and Lydia. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 23, 2022 at the Life Church, 699 Bayfield Parkway in Bayfield, Colorado. Reception to follow at the VFW, 1550 Main Avenue in Durango, Colorado.
