Alman Dustin Obituary

Alman Elihu Dustin passed away peacefully on Friday, March 11, 2016 at the age of 94. Al was born to Burney Elihu Dustin and Ruth Lorraine Spencer on December 28, 1921 in Farmington , NM .

Al served honorably as a military transport pilot in the Pacific Theater of WWII.

Except for during his military service, he spent his entire life as a farmer, rancher, and entrepreneur in the Farmington area. Al was a giant of a man and yet a humble servant to many. He believed in people and would willingly give anything he had to help others. He loved his family and God and desired to qualify for the blessings of eternal life with them.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Rose Clawson (1986) and his oldest son Gary Burney Dustin (1970). He is survived by his children Alman Dustin (Marilyn) of Providence , Utah ; Robert Dustin (Klaire) of Ignacio , CO ; Rickie Dustin (Melanie) of Cedar City , UT, Connie Warner (MIke) of Centerville, UT ; Rockie Dustin (Carilee) of Farmington , UT ; and Tammie Ash (Randy) of Durango , CO . Rick and I are sadden for the loss of your dad. Al was one of a kind. Soft heart, kind and caring to all he met.
We have great memories with him and your sweet mom. We will never forget "Waffle Sunday's." They shared a little Sweet with all of us.
We also had the opportunity to go to dinner with him while Ricks dad was still alive.
We will never forget him. For such a small man he was a "Giant" to us all.
Rest in peace and enjoy being with your Sweetheart.
Love to the Dustin family.

Alman, Robert, & Rockie and family members of your father (and mother).

Yours is a wonderful heritage, and you can certainly be proud of your parents. They were truly wonderful people and were great examples of living the teachings of Jesus Christ.

When approaching the age of 12, I remember hoping that your father would still be the Scout Master. He was a great man and I had a tremendous respect for him.

May the Lord's choicest blessings be with you all at this time in your lives. My prayer is that you will feel the Lord's sweet spirit with you as you gather together as a family, with the comforting assurance that the gospel of Jesus Christ brings the knowledge that you will be together again.

Many wonderful memories of you all come to mind and as I reflect upon my association with your family and growing up in the 2nd Ward, my heart is filled with gladness.

A father is a father, be he 34 or 94, and he was a good father to be proud of his offspring. He certainly left a proud legacy in this fmily. Age does not ease the pains of losing a father or a mother and our condolences and love go out to the family of Brother Dustin. Thom and Anita Carden, Durango
