Agapito Olguin Obituary

Ignacio resident Agapito S. Olguin, Jr., well known as "Pete", passed away Thursday, January 9th, 2025 in Durango.

Pete was born to Agapito Olguin and Benita F. Olguin on November 29, 1959 in Durango.

Pete graduated from Ignacio High School in 1978. After graduating, Pete went to work for Jackson David Bottling, driving for Pepsi. Pete also worked in Las Cruces hauling concrete and sand. Later, he returned to Farmington, New Mexico to work at Sack 'N Save and so low grocery stores as a stocker. Then came his favorite occupation, driving over the road for Swift. Pete enjoyed seeing and enjoying different states while truck driving. Pete later went on to drive for RAC Transport. Pete loved his sports. A person always caught Pete at softball, volleyball, basketball, and baseball games. He always attended Connie Mack.

Pete also enjoyed talking with people at church or at event centers in Ignacio.

Pete Olguin was preceded in death by his father, Agapito Olguin; mother, Benita F. Olguin; nephews, Moises Dominguez and niece, Julie Dominguez.

He is survived by his siblings, Viola Dominquez of Durango, Raymond Olguin of Bloomfield, Paul Olguin of Farmington, Robert Olguin of Ignacio, Christopher Olguin of Arizona, Carmella Olguin of Durango; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial and Rosary will be celebrated on January 31, 2025 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Ignacio, Colorado. The Rosary will begin at 9:30 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial for Pete will be held at the Tiffany Cemetery immediately after services.
