Martha Scott Obituary

Martha Jo Scott, 84, passed from this life on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. She was born August 9, 1941, in Skyline to George Dewey and Evie Lamb Alred. She attended Mooreville High School and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Baldwyn. Martha loved spending time with her family and was happiest when everyone gathered around her table for the large meals she prepared. She enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, and playing recreational sports in her younger years. Known affectionately as "Granny" by everyone who loved her, she was blessed to live long enough to watch three generations of grandchildren grow up playing on her front porch.

Services will be 2 PM Friday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Forrest Sheffield officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

She is survived by her three children, Michael Scott (Jan) of Guntown, Lynn Arnold of Guntown and Bobby Scott (Martha) of Ellisville; four grandchildren, Barry Martinez (Robin), Cheryl Hendrix (Casey), Michael Scott, Jr. (Brittany) and Makayla Merritt (Ryan); thirteen great grandchildren, Laken, Jayden, Cadence, Cayson, Madison, Makenzie, Lainey, Waylon, Liam, Luke, Joby, Layton and Lizzy Kay; four great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 60 years, Bobby Scott; her son-in-law, Doug Arnold; three sisters, Helen Falls, Jean Enis, and Shirley Campize; four brothers, Arvis Alred, Cecil Alred, Gerald Alred, and Carl Alred.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Visitation will be 12 - 2 Friday.
