Eva "Eve" Rose (Arel) Wressell, age 85, formerly of Au Gres, Michigan, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 18, 2025. Eva was born in Ada, Minnesota, to the late Louis and Violet Arel. She proudly served in the United States Army as a nurse, where she met her husband of 62 years, Richard. Eva was a kind and devoted mother and grandmother, who treasured time with her family. She was blessed with a great sense of humor, and took a special liking to olives, lemons and an occasional Miller Lite with friends on Friday nights. She remained active over the years, enjoying exercise and long walks. Eva found joy in the warmth of the sun, particularly during her winters in Florida. She also delighted in watching birds and could often be found enjoying them from her window, where a bird feeder was always in place. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Richard; siblings, Helen (Orville) Kappes, James Arel, Ann (Robert) Swenson, Mary (Eugene) Dressler, Michael (Cheryl) Arel, Lucille "Lu-Lu" Arel, George (Sharon) Arel. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Timothy (Shonette McLennon) Wressell, AnnMarie (Bill) DeBoer; grandchildren, Aaron and Kaylee DeBoer, Matthew DeBoer; siblings, Kenny (Arlene) Arel, Eileen Arel, Dorothy (Arthur) Morris, Barbara Arel. A private family ceremony at Great Lakes National Cemetery, with military honors, will take place at a later date.
