Longtime Mancos resident Victor J. Gallegos died at San Juan hospital on Sunday, October 14, 2018. He was 93. Mr. Gallegos was born to Victor S. and Josephine Archuleta Gallegos in Pagosa, CO on May 30, 1925. On September 18, 1948, he married Josie M. Salazar in Ogden, Utah. He was a carpenter by trade. He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years; two sons, Sonny and Conte; two grandsons, Erik and Shane Gallegos. He is survived by his sons Larry A. of Farmington, Victor C. of Mancos, Eugene T. Gallegos of Durango, and daughter Debbie Hull of Ignacio. Siblings: Ted of Cortez, Raymond and Billy of Nevada, Gomie Garcia and Rosie Martinez of California and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great, great, grandson. There will be a service held at St. Rita's Catholic Church, 203 S. Main St. in Mancos, CO on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 11:00 am.
