Mona Lou "Tookie" Bitante (79) born September 23, 1941 in Scottdale, Pennsylvania and passed away April 26, 2021 in Leesburg, Virginia. Preceding her in death, husband Gary Bitante, parents Charles and Virginia Walker, brothers Skidge and Joe Walker. Also her daughter Stacey Simon. She is survived by daughters Stephanie Tulk (Barry), and Kimberly Bitante along with granddaughter Caressa Goodman (Ace), grandson Gary-Michael Vera and 2 great-grandchildren Liam Goodman and Kellyn Goodman along with treasured nieces and nephews.

Tookie had an amazing childhood growing up at Electra Lake, where her father was the caretaker during the 1950's. A wonderful time when movies were being filmed in Durango and "movie stars" would come to enjoy a good time at the lake. She also enjoyed softball, volleyball, and bowling, winning many trophies. She was a true friend to many, always available to listen and offer comfort. It was at Basin Bowl that Tookie met and fell in love with her husband, Gary Bitante. Their love centered around family and because of that their marriage was successful for 53 years. For that sense of family, that foundation, we are truly grateful.

Her most cherished hope was the resurrection promised by Jehovah, God in the Bible, where here on earth she will be once again be healthy and united with her family. Acts 24:15 "And I have hope toward God... that there is going to be a resurrection."
