Harvey was a dear friend in Okinawa where I met my wife of 52 years. She was on her first assignment as a DOD school teacher and I was her sponsor. I left Oki 3 months after I met her and visited her folks on my way to Germany. Chief Brewer made phone patches between her and I several times when I was with her parents. She quit her job and came back to Illinois where we were married and went to Bremerhaven, Germany . I couldn't thank Harvey enough for making those connections possible. May he rest in peace in Heaven forever where we will see him again. Senior Chief Thomas Mosher

Harvey and I were shipmates and friends in Okinawa. He made phone patches between me and my soon to be wife who was a school teacher who I sponsored before I left Okinawa who taught military children on Kadena AFB. Harvey was a good friend. I am glad he loved the Lord and I know he is with the Lord . That teacher and I have been married 50 years thanks to Harvey's phone patches.

Dear Carolyn and Family,
It is with a heavy heart that I write this note. Harvey was a great classmate, patriate , and I judge a wonderful family man. I know you have very fond memories of all the places you have been and enjoyed together.
During high school we did not travel in the same circles, but I admired him for his love of life and enthusiasm for every adventure he took on. It was at the 40th and 50th reunions that we made a better connection based on our military background and pride of service.
It has been a pleasure to know and admire him for all these years. May God be with you and your family in this time of sorrow. I know Harvey is looking down on you knowing you are cared for and comforted by the many friends and loved ones you both have made over the years.
Sincerely,
Mark Maxwell, Class of 59

I was a lucky man to be sworn in as a Mounted Ranger by Captain Brewer. I will miss his friendship dearly. Once a ranger, always a ranger.
