It is with great sadness that the family of Craig Burnham announce his passing in December 2021 in Fort Collins, CO after a long battle with Parkinson's and Lewy Body Dementia. Craig was born in Detroit, Michigan, and grew up in the area graduating from Cooley High School. After traveling around the west in a van with his future wife Carol Scott they fell in love with Durango Colorado and decided that was where they wanted to be. That dream came true in 1975 when they relocated to Durango and bought 40 acres in the tall pines. With their friends, they built their dream home. He lived there for 38 years and raised his two children there. It was his happy place. Craig worked at Holt Sheet Metal for many years and LaPlata Electric. He retired in 2014. We remember his easy smile and sense of humor. He was a lover of music, cars, camping, fishing, the Broncos, car shows, music festivals and spending time with friends. His closest friends liked to call him "Bubba" or "CB". He loved life, his family and his many lifelong friends. He will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents Hugh and Marion Burnham and Brother Tom LaBarr. Survivors include his daughter, Blake Ward; a son, Scott Burnham, his brothers, Rex Burnham and Alan Burnham, and grandchildren, Samara, Rilyn, and Linus.
A private celebration of Craig's life will be held this summer at Vallecito Lake near Durango.
