Joseph M. "Joe" Bowden Obituary

I went to school with Joe at St Francis and Newark High, and we had many good times together. I have not seen him for many years but am very sad to hear of his passing. Eternal rest grant unto him Oh Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.

We were saddened to learn of Joe's passing upon returning from out of state today. Joe was not only considered a personal friend and confidant, but a true craftsman with a brilliant mechanical knowledge and mind. Working together on numerous YMCA projects was both enjoyable and satisfying. He will be missed by those of us who know well the numerous significant contributions he made to the greater Newark community. Our heartfelt sympathy is extended to his entire family.

Linda, My heartfelt sympathy goes out to you and your family. You are in my thoughts and prayers continually. My sister and I are deeply saddened that we found the time for calling hours after they were over. Had it not been for dialysis, I would have been at the funeral. Joe was a great friend and loved by my entire family. May God's grace, peace, and comfort be with you now and always.

I worked with Joe on a few occasions. I considerd Joe a friend now and a mentor wen I started in construction. I enjoyed listening to the stories he woud tell. He will be missed. Our prayers will be with his family.

It is with deep sorrow to hear Joe has passed on from this earth, Yes it is the first day of spring here on earth, but Joe has gone on to where all of us pray to all be some day, where spring will be each & everyday with flowers sunshine, joy and laugher all good things. Dear Bowden family, I was so shocked and devistated to hear of the passing of Joe. I will always remember the great times that I had growing up with Joe and the entire Bowden family. I am so sorry that I am out of town and cannot be there, but my thoughts and prayers are with your family.
