Jayden Neal McLain was born October 25, 2000 to Monty and Sandi McLain. He was an honor graduate from Perryton High School and later attended Angelo State University to pursue a nursing degree. He had an immense passion for Christ and a genuine hunger for His truth. Jayden has touched many lives in such short time on this earth. He had a keen sense of discernment and a special gift for comforting people. He was an exceptional listener to those placed in his path. It was remarkable to see him blossom into the young Christian man he had become. Jayden showed a love for reading at a young age and had a passion for music, outdoors and photography (where he medaled at state). Jayden had a competitive spirit whether it was board games with his family, tennis, or any other contest. Jayden’s family loved spending time with him. He made his mom and dad proud. He will leave a void in this world and in our hearts, but we have comfort knowing he is with his Lord and Savior. Each day we are one day closer to seeing him again.
Jayden is survived by his parents, Monty and Sandi McLain of the home; sister, Jolie McLain; brother, Jace McLain and wife, Maddison; nephew and niece Ryken and Zellie; brother, Jordon McLain and Raygan Oldfield; great-grandmother, Lois Macha; grandparents, Don and Judy Macha; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Jayden was preceded in death by grandparents, Neal and Norma Elwood and Earl McLain; uncle, Michael McLain; aunt, Jody Black; and uncle, Lyle Springer.
In lieu of gifts and memorials, please pay it forward with an act of kindness, as Jayden would, for someone bearing a heavy burden.
“I am leaving you with a gift – peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” -John 14:27

I love you soooo much Jayden! You were a ray of sunshine not only in my life but everyone else’s as well. I looked forward to going to work because of you. I remember when you first started bartending and i had this table that was asking for the most complicated shots so we started winging it and we were surprised that they actually liked them! I have nothing but good memories to hang on too. Watch over all your friends and family as we mourn your beautiful soul! Although I can no longer see you physically I know you are more alive than ever with God by your side! And it’s not a Goodbye, it’s a see you later my friend!
To Jayden’s family thank y’all soo much for giving me the pleasure to have met such an amazing person inside and out. Sending y’all lots of love and prayers!

Jayden played on the tennis team with our kids in High School. Jayden was such a fine young man. Always had a great attitude, respectful to the coaches, encouraging his team mates and had such an amazing overall spirit and energy. A testament to the parents who raised him to the man he became. We are sorry for your loss. He will be truly missed.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived. Sandi I can not even imagine the pain, we are praying for you and your family. I just wanted to share the last time We saw Jayden here in San Angelo, he was so happy to run into somebody from back home!! He was so excited to be living his life on his own and trying out this “adult” life!! He even gave us a hug before we left and it’s true he was such a caring young man!! It makes me happy to hear that he loved God and was passionate about it too!!
