Beulah was born in Midland county, Michigan on July 5, 1922, the daughter of Garry G. Lyons and Mabel A. (Downey) Lyons. Raised on the Garry Lyons farm on Seven Mile Road, Wheeler, Michigan, she completed 8th grade followed by two winter terms at Ontario Bible School, Fort Erie, Ontario. A devout reader of God's Word, Beulah at age 17 dedicated herself to accomplishing the Lord's will and served often as a Sunday School and Bible School teacher throughout the next 40 years of her life. Moving to Pennsylvania in 1950, she served 12 of those years with life-long friend Elizabeth Kanode in Brethren In Christ Home Mission work under Pastor Joel Carlson and Matron Faithe (Brehm) Carlson at the Messiah Lighthouse Chapel on Bailey Street, Harrisburg.
When the Harrisburg mission closed in 1962, Beulah began worshipping at the Harrisburg Brethren in Christ church and took a position at Pomeroy's department store until being hired as an office assistant for Robert R. Stoner Surgical in 1967. Dr. Gordon Arnold joined the practice in 1973, Dr. Schucker in 1978, and the practice became Arnold and Schucker Surgical Associates upon Stoner's retirement. Beulah's employment with the practice ended in 1983. In 1984, Dr. and Mrs. Arnold transitioned her to serve as the family Nanny, a role she never relinquished even after her retirement in 2001.
Beulah was preceded in death by parents Garry and Mabel, sisters Alice L. Cobb and Ella Ruth Huntoon (Ruth) and nephew Eldon L. Huntoon. She is survived by brother Vernon A. Words alone cannot describe what you meant to me. A little part of me went with you when you passed. I love you and you'll always be my Nana.
