William "Bill" Cox Obituary
Lifetime resident of Durango, Bill Cox, passed away April 25th from a long time illness. Bill is a graduate of Durango High School and served in the Marines in Viet Nam. He was injured in battle and was awarded the Purple Heart while healing at the San Diego military hospital before returning home. He worked at the Tacoma power plant for a number of years, living up in the mountains, one of his favorite places to be. In later life he worked at the Giant gas station. He loved fishing and boating at Lake Powell.

Bill is survived by his only child, a daughter, Doneva Houge; grandson Johnny Koziol; his sisters, Jo-Ann LaQuey and Jerri Morris; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A military service for Bill will take place at the Durango VFW Post 4031 in their picnic area at 1550 Main Avenue on Sunday, June 3rd at 3:00pm.
