Not sure what to say?

I have a picture he gave my parents the day were baptized in the church on April 7, 1963 in São Vicente, São Paulo, Brazil. I had less than two years, so I do not remember it, but it sure made a big difference in our lives. My parents and siblings still in the church, we are sealed in the temple and I'm the wife of the President of Brazil Maceio Mission today.
Thank Elder Evensen for his labor of love.

Val and I worked together at Lore for 5 great years. He was there to listen to me rant & rave about people, then we would laugh and go back to work. I will miss you very much.

Val and Frosty Martin were good friends, as was I. On his mission, Val had to escort my cousin, when her son died on his mission. It was a small world. It is a sadder world today for me.

“We have known Val since we were children in Durango. He was so outgoing and talented. We don't ever remember him being upset or mad. He was fun to be around and was an example of goodness. We admire his leaving his successful career in Hollywood to return to Durango to care for his parents: What an honorable tribute to his parents. We married and left Durango in 1964 and never saw him again until we got together again in November 2011. It was a delightful reunion that we shall never forget. He shared much humor with us when we visited after so many years apart. We shall always be grateful to have known him. Val was a great friend and colleague, always kind and helpful and smiling. We shared many laughs in the early days of Self-Management Institute aka SMI, later renamed Lore International Institute. This was in the mid-1990s, when there were just a few employees. Val processed I don't know how many thousands of an assessment called the Survey of Influence Effectiveness, or the SIE. One especially busy day he got a little flustered and answered the phone, "Good afternoon, SIE" (instead of SMI). We laughed hard, and I've enjoyed remembering that for years. Good times! I'll continue to miss Val.

Val,
Was a very talented man. As a boy, I enjoyed his art work sketches and his humor. He was an excellent singer. The Evensen family were and are great friends of my family, the Joseph Phillip and Marie Cardon family.

Whenever I stopped to visit and Val wasn't home, I knew he was out serving others. Thanks for the example. I miss hearing the added flair on the piano.

Todd and I met Val in 2002 when we attended the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-Day- Saints. Val was a great friend and he never knew a stranger. Val was also present at Hood mortuary when both of my parent's (Ray and Marceil Stolworthy)passed. He helped me through that horrible time in my life. We will miss you Val.
Sincerely,

I met Val in 1974 in Los Angeles. We worked together at a couple of television and motion picture companies. Even though we haven't seen each other for many years we kept in touch by mail and occasional phone calls on birthdays and holidays. My wife and I through the years always thought about Val and all the wonderful memories. He had a terrific dry sense of humor that always had us laughing. Even in the middle of stressful times he could find humor in the moment.

Val I know your listening from heaven and I want to say to you, no one could find a better friend. You made the world a better place and all of our lives are richer because of your friendship. Thank you for everything.

I had the priviledge of assisting him at the hospital and he was such a delightful, cheerful, tender-hearted man of deep faith. He touched all those around him with such a joyful spirit and zest for life even in his last few days on this earth. May God richly bless his family and friends.
