I AM SO SORRY. I JUST CAN'T BELIEVE IT. I KNEW STEVE IN 8TH GRADE AND AFTER (WE WERE COUNSELORS TOGETHER AT POP HEADON'S BOYS CAMP)AND REUNITED WITH HIM AGAIN AT DEPAUW UNIVERSITY. I WANT HIS KIDS AND FAMILY TO KNOW THIS AS A FACT: HE WAS ONE OF THE MOST KIND AND RESPECTIVE PERSON I EVER MET. HE DEFINES A GOOD MAN.
I HAVE SOME NEWSPAPER ARTICLES (IF YOU ARE INTERESTED) THAT I CAN COPY WHERE STEVE AND I WORKED AT POP HEADONS BOYS CAMP(I BELIEVE PICTURES OF HIM WITH THE VAN ARDALE TWIMS (PRO PLAYERS) AND ADOLF RUPT (A LEGEND)). IN BASKETBALL, STEVE HAD A WICKED QUICK RELEASE SHOT AND SHOT WITH GREAT ACCURACY BUT MOST OF ALL HE PLAYED SMART.
THE OUTDOORS MAKES SENSE TO ME, WE SPENT MANY HOURS WADING THROUGH THE WALNUT CREEK LOOKING FOR GEODS. IT WAS KIND OF WIERD THAT LATER WE BOTH GRADUATED FROM DEPAUW IN GEOLOGY, HIM AS A SCHOLAR AND I BARELY MADE IT.
ANYWAY, WHAT A GREAT MAN!! OUR WORLD WAS FAR BETTER OFF WITH HIM HERE BUT WE SHALL SEE HIM AGAIN SOME DAY AND ALL SHARE LAUGHES. WHAT AN HONOR TO HAVE KNOWN STEVE!!
I WILL PRAY FOR YOU GUYS AND IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO CONTACT ME FOR ANY NEWSPAPER ARTICLES, YOU CAN CONTACT ME AT [email protected].
