Not sure what to say?

Pete was very kind to me as a wide eyed 16 year old in the Petty pit at Atlanta in 1970. My dad worked for Chrysler Corp and he was working the race crowd. I was "helping" Maurice Petty with tools and pushing engines into their van. I wish I could find those autographs! Pete Hamilton, a real gentleman.

My Condolences and Prayers for Pete's Family!

I'm Crushed I Just Found Out So Sorry For Your Loss! I rented A shop from Pete I'll Never Forget The first time I meant Him He said I'm waiting for my sponsor to buy me Lunch! Always upbeat And Smiling Rest In Peace! God speed!

God bless you in the years ahead. We know that God blessed us with knowing Pete. Thank you for sharing him with us.

I am very sorry for your loss. God shares your grief and wants to comfort you and all those who are mourning for this precious family member. Isaiah 57:18

I grew up in Walpole, Massachusetts, and on summer nights when the windows were open, we could hear the races from Norwood Speedway. I started as a NASCAR fan with my dad, and I'm now seventy and my husband are still NASCAR fans. I remember Pete Hamilton when I was in High School (WHS, 1964) and College (BSU, 1968) as "local boy makes it to the 'big time'!"

I'll never forget seeing Pete pull into the pit's at Norwood Arena, jump out of the 69 (Worcester sand Modified) grab a wrench and make an adjustment to the jacking bolt front end and return for the feature ... never gave up..RIP Champ...

We saw Pete win at Daytona and Talladega in 1970, when he drove the #40 Superbird.
He was a great driver!
Sincerely,
