Gilbert Joseph Litz, 84 years, of Ignacio, CO, passed away peacefully in Durango on 7/6/2017. Gilbert is survived by his son Randall Litz; daughter Twyla Casados; grandchildren Leandro & Landis Litz; and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents Valvina Salazar & Pete Litz; son Gilbert Jr.; and his siblings Dave, Andy, & Mary. Gilbert was a Korean War Vet and proud of his service in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed fishing, and watching football & boxing. Gilbert had a sweet tooth, he loved German chocolate cake & strawberry malts. He enjoyed "outlaw" country music, such as Merle Haggard, but his favorite song was "Wooly Bully". Gilbert was loved and will be missed by his friends & family, who are grateful to have been part of his life.
A memorial dinner will be held 3:00 Saturday, 7/15/2017 at the SUCAP Ignacio Sr. Center.
