Don Kothe Obituary
Don Kothe was a good man. Born to Margaret and Frederick in Queens, NY, Donald Reinhardt Kothe found Ft. Lewis College in the Lovejoy's College Catalog. He arrived in Durango in 1966 and graduated with a business degree in 1970. As a man of many talents, Don enjoyed success as a realtor, banker, bartender, camp cook and business owner. Don met Sue Crapo in 1984 and they married in 1987. Together for over 30 years, Don and Sue truly enjoyed spending time with on another. Travel was on of their great loves and they found themselves as far north as Alaska and as far south as the Caribbean. They enjoyed camping, their house boat, movies, great restaurants and time with friends. Don was an avid fisherman and all around lover of fun. Though Don was a cat love, he never left home without dog biscuits in the pocket of his fishing vest, making canine friends wherever he went. Don is survived by his wife Sue, his brother Daniel, sister Barbara, his two step sons, Brian and Bradley Wilhelm and several nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by his best friend Bob Touchon and family. We will remember Don for his generous nature and mischievous smile. A love like Don and Sue's is rare.
