She was born to Albert and Tennie Larsen on June 6, 1926 in Dulce, NM. She graduated from Bayfield High School, then attended Fort Lewis College and Pueblo School of Nursing and did training at St Mary Corwin Hospital.

Her son-in-law, Bob Witt always said, "She made the best rolls and rhubarb jam in the country!" She got her teaching degree in 1967 from Fort Lewis College and began teaching 2nd grade at Ignacio Elementary. She then went on to graduate from UNC in Greeley with a Master's degree in Library Science.

She is survived by her 3 children: Paula (Bob) Witt, Vicki and Stephen (Laura) Pargin; 8 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; brother, Alfred "Bud" Larsen; sister Joyce Wick, as well as extended family, including cousins, Dotty Wayt and her son Brad Wayt and family, Glenda Payne Hocker and family.

There will be a service on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 10am at the Pine River Valley Baptist Church, with Pastor Randall Haynes officiating. Burial will follow services at the Allison Tiffany Cemetery.
