Terrence Jacob Stricherz was born October 20, 1961 in Watertown, SD to Darrell and Mary Stricherz. During his life, he had several careers, all done well, reflecting his strong work ethic. He was a man who would help anyone and did everything for his family. Taking care of his girls was the focus of his life, and he did an amazing job of it. His "hobby" cow ranching was his passion. He loved the time spent outside chasing cows, irrigating, fixing a fence, or anything in his tractor. He spent his last day on Dec. 9, 2018 doing what he loved.
Terry was proceeded in death by his father, Darrell, brother Tim and brother Trent. He is survived by his mother Mary of Waverly, SD; three sisters Paulette (and Scott) Schmeling of New Ulm, MN; Lea Anne Manke (and Bob Benson) of Mitchell, SD; Darla (and Randy) Guderian of Kranzburg, SD; three brothers Tom (and Donna) Stricherz of Waverly, SD; Tad Stricherz (and Kathy Minatra) of Waverly, SD ; and Todd Stricherz of Brookings, SD; his wife Lynelle Stricherz of Ignacio, CO; four daughters, Miranda Russell (and Tony Boughton) of Watertown, SD; Adria Freitas of Ignacio, CO; Jayce Stricherz of Ignacio, CO; July Stricherz of Ignacio, CO; nine grandchildren, twenty nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Dear Lynell and Family.
My BEST friend left suddenly...
I met him Summer of 2012 and lamented my loss of not having known him for many years prior
Whenever we spoke on the phone or in person
we laughed at some absurdity of life
In 2013 he asked to lease my 20-acre parcel
and I asked if we could trade his use of that for doing occasional stuff for me
We had a deal
Each time we left one another and I thanked him profusely - he always said: "CALL ANYTIME!"
I would e-mail my daughter each time he was
here with the subject line:
"THANK GOD FOR TERRY!"
And then he left - during an event protecting some animals
Animals have become more important to me than people
I will miss him beyond words
I truly loved him - although I never told him that
THANK GOD FOR TERRY
