Marjorie Myers Obituary

December 2, 1951 to November 29, 2017

On November 29, 2017, Margie Myers was taken peacefully by her right hand to her eternal home in Heaven to be wrapped in the arms of her Heavenly Father. She fought a tough and rapid battle with cancer, and was brave to the very end. Marjorie Elaine Lallemand was born to Andrew and Helen Lallemand in Canon City, Colorado. She graduated from high school there in 1970. The last 43 years she spent enjoying her life in the mountains around Durango, Colorado.

Margie was an independent and strong woman. She successfully ran three businesses over many years: Photography by Margie, Simpler Times Crafts Store, and Arts and Crafts Fair Productions (which just concluded its 43rd annual Christmas show). All her businesses displayed her talents, creativity, and her love for people of all ages. She loved gardening, the outdoors, photography, writing cards/letters for all occasions, journaling, poetry, reading, traveling, and being surrounded by friends and family.

Margie will always be remembered for her beautiful personal relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her kind and gentle smile, her seeing everyone and everything through the eyes of God, her adventurous spirit and love for traveling all over the world, and her always believing in people and their dreams/goals, especially encouraging her grandchildren to follow their hearts. She prayed over all her family faithfully for guidance and for them to shine their lights for Jesus wherever their journeys would lead them. Her biggest blessings were her two daughters and their families, as well as many lifelong, genuinely true friends from every walk of life. Margie always saw the beauty in everything around her, in God's creation, in the hearts of people, and in her legacy and faithful example that will never be forgotten.

Margie is survived by her two daughters, Monica (Mark) Dixon of Montrose, CO and Trisha (Keith) Hickerson of Farmington, NM; her granddaughters, Allyssa and Kelsee Dixon, and Megan Hickerson; her grandson, Kyle Hickerson; her brothers, Wayne Lallemand of Canon City, CO, Larry (Denise) Lallemand of Canon City, and Dale Lallemand of Salida, CO; several nieces and a nephew, and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Helen Lallemand.

Her "Celebration of Life" will be held Sunday, January 7, 2018 at 3:30 p.m. at Pine Valley Church, 1328 CR 501, Bayfield, Colorado. Her daughters request that everyone dress bright and colorful to celebrate the life of their mom.

In lieu of flowers, monetary donations for Margie Myers Memorial with checks payable to Monica Dixon or Trisha Hickerson (in Memo: Margie Myers Memorial Acct) may be brought to any local branch of Bank of Colorado, mailed to Bank of Colorado, 16550 S. Townsend Ave., Montrose, CO 81401, or by phone to (970) 249-5641.

Not sure what to say?

It is had to believe it has been five years since Margie's passing. I was reminded over her this past weekend when I participated in the Miss Margie's Christmas Arts and Craft Show. For many years, I provided the music and emceed her art shows at Buckley Park but this year I was able to have my Space Salsa and Marsarita dehydrated margarita mix at the show. I miss you, my friend and so do many, many others! Love and Hugs, Danny Jaques

Our hearts sank to hear of Margie's passing but happy to know she is whole again and with our Heavenly Father at last! She was a true joy to know and work with. We did many arts and crafts shows that Margie put together and a good time was had by all. A huge loss felt by everyone that knew her. God Bless Margie's family and friends,

Charlie Black, I cannot figure out how to message you back - - you can email me at [email protected], but I got your message and that would be wonderful!

Growing up, I lived in Pueblo. My mom and her very close friends. I have several pictures of Helen and Momma together, but none of Margie. We would go and visit the Lallemands almost monthly until our teenage years became busy. I tried several times to find her over the years. Momma told me she was in Durango, but I think that is what Helen told her.

Please know that I loved Margie, and had so much fun when we were together. I am so sorry I wasn't able to reconnect, but so glad she loved the Lord, lived an active life, and had a wonderful family.

My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

I'M SO GRATEFUL TO HAVE KNOWN AND LOVED MARGIE. HER LIFE WASN'T ALWAYS EASY BUT SHE HAD THE SPUNK TO OVERCOME ANY ADVERSITY. ANY DAY AROUND HER WAS A GOOD DAY. SHE LEFT THIS WORLD MUCH TOO SOON. OUR LORD MUST HAVE NEEDED HER LIVELY SPIRIT UP THERE. SHE WON'T BE FLOATING AROUND ON A CLOUD, SHE WILL BE BUSY JUST LIKE SHE WAS DOWN HERE. HOLD THAT THOUGHT, MONICA.
