Dennis Wright Obituary

Dennis Lee Wright, age 72, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2019 at home with his wife by his side. Dennis was born on June 18, 1946 in Durango, Colorado. He was raised in Pagosa Springs on a ranch. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army. He was sent to Vietnam 101st Airborne and the Ranger Long Range Recon Patrol as a medic.

Dennis worked at Basin Co-op in Durango and farmed with his father Harold, uncle Chuck, uncle Norman, and brother Mike until retirement.

Dennis is preceded in death by his parents Harold and Emma Lou; brother Jerry Wright; sisters Brenda, Banita, and Barbara Wright; uncles Norman, Charles Wright, and Ralph Briar; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his wife Dorothea "Dottie" Wright; stepdaughter, Amanda "Mandy" (James) Bond; brothers John, Terry, James "Mike" Wright, and honorary brother Mencor Valdez; grandchildren James Jr. and Kimberly Bond; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Dennis will be missed dearly by all who loved him.

A Celebration of Life for Dennis will be held on Friday, May 31, 2019 at Pine River Valley Baptist Church in Ignacio at 10:00 a.m.
