Formerly of Silverton CO, Connie passed away in Oregon on Dec 20, 2016. Connie was born in Durango, July of 1951. She graduated from Silverton H.S in 1969, and began her work in several of the mines, mills and shops in San Juan County. She liked to say she was the 2nd woman ever to work underground at the 100 yr old Gold King Mine.
She married Hobie Rice in 1985 and they remained together up to the time of her passing. She is survived by her sister, Patti Marron and husband, Kenny. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Fred and Mary Andersen.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Silverton Hillside Cemetery. PO Box 154, Silverton, CO 81433.
