Deborah Lunt-Hixenbaugh Obituary

Deborah Jean Lunt-Hixenbaugh (nee Fry) died at home on August 22nd, 2018, after a long battle with cancer. She was 65.

Deborah was born on August 21, 1953. She obtained a nursing degree and worked as a nurse at the San Juan Regional Medical Center for several years. The Durango area was home for much of her life. She volunteered at the American Legion, where her conversationalism and good sense earned her many friends.

Deborah's hard resolve and fair-mindedness were a foundation that supported every aspect of her life. Friends and loved ones will miss her clear-headedness and strength, aspects that allowed her to remain cheerful despite her illness. She sought the sweet life, and loved to ride a motorcycle with her partner.

Deborah is survived by her partner Mat McClure; her sons Paul, Andy, Jason, Mark and Les; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at the American Legion Post 28 in Durango, on October 19th at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, consider donating to the American Legion.
