Guillermo ""Phil"" Gomez, 86, passed away on Feb. 23, 2018.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Tonita.
Survived by son, Thomas (Onnalee) Gomez; and daughters, Patricia (Thomas) Cone, Rhonda (James) Holcomb and Cheryl (Alan) Smith. He leaves six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; siblings, Cris Lucero, Al (Bette) Gomez, Carol Moon, Toni (Don) Gardner and Gary (Kathy) Gomez; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Phil was also preceded in death by his parents, Guillermo Alfredo and Lizaida Gomez; brothers, John Gomez and Bob Gomez; and sister, Liz Gomez.
Phil spent his formative years growing up in Durango, Colo. He entered the Air Force upon graduating from Durango High School to serve during the Korean War. Upon completing his service to his country, Phil married Tonita M. Martinez in 1955, and moved to Pueblo, Colo., to work at the Colorado State Hospital; where he built his career until he retired as a maintenance supervisor.
Rosary will be held at 5 p.m., on Thursday, July 19 at Sacred Heart Church in Durango, Colo., with service at 10 a.m., on Friday, July 20.
